This study provides an overview of the latest and most relevant knowledge on what influences the decision to retire among the elderly. The report is based on a review of 111 empirical studies from OECD countries, the vast majority of which have been published after 2010. The report forms the basis for the Senior Think Tank (Seniortænketanken) recommendations for how even more elderly people have the desire and possibility to remain in the labour market longer.
The report was prepared by partner Esben Anton Schultz from Højbjerre Brauer Schultz and Professor Torben M. Andersen from Aarhus University.
The study is commissioned by the Danish Ministry of Employment.
