Biosolutions is the development of biological products and technologies for production processes in industries such as agriculture, food technology, public utilities, and maritime industries.
This report provides, for the first time, a comprehensive overview of the economic, environmental and climate footprint of the biosolutions sector in Denmark. In addition, the report provides insights into how biosolutions can contribute to the green transition in other industries.
Our analyses show that the Danish biosolutions sector is a well-established, efficient, and research-based industry with a strong international engagement. The sector is an important driving force for the green transition, and there is ample business potential in bringing Danish solutions into play to initiate and accelerate the green transition in other industries in Denmark and abroad. For example, biosolutions can contribute to sustainable production of foods, fuels, plastics, construction materials.
