A group of R&D-intensive companies has allied to improve conditions of R&D-activities in Denmark. The companies operate in a wide range of sectors and span from world-leading global companies to SME’s.
Client challenges
In making a case for a tax allowance, the Alliance wanted to showcase all Danish R&D firms’ impact on the Danish economy and job market, highlighting its spread geographically and across professions.
Our approach and findings
Our work for the Alliance consisted of the following tasks:
- Footprint analysis of the social and economic impacts of Danish R&D firms
- Collection and delimitation of data on all Danish R&D firms
- Input-output analysis of R&D investments in Denmark
- Presentation of results to leading Danish government officials across agencies
- Method development in concert with government officials and industry interest groups
Benefits achieved for our client
Our analysis and its reach within Danish government agencies helped the Alliance display its vital role in the Danish economy across all professional groups and geographical areas to leading political decision-makers.
This demonstration further emphasized the Danish tax scheme’s need to facilitate private R&D investments, which led to a change in tax policy.
